Mini Updates

Greetings, Dear Fans, Friends, Fiends and Foes,

Just thought I would let you all know I am still alive and kicking.  I fixed the links in frames link to actually work now.  Now you can visit all of the blogs that I visit, although the list will be changing to remove people who have blocked their blog from the general public.  As always, if you leave here and go visiting I cannot be responsible for their content.  That being said, these are all people I personally read whenever the chance offers itself.

Every time I putz with the code, I mess something up but I really enjoy putzing...

Not on the Net, Yet

My dear fans, friends, fiends and foes,

I apologize that you have heard little or nothing from me and that half the stuff on this site doesn't work right.  I have been without an internet connection for a couple of months now and am also working on an extensive rewrite of the book, but I don't want you all to think I forgot about you.  One of the big problems is the phone company.  They have this crazy policy that if you don't pay them for several months they turn off your service, if you can imagine anything so ridiculous.  You actually have to choose to buy food instead of fun.  Isn't that crazy?  I don't believe in using credit cards because they are just disaster waiting to happen.  I would rather rough it out now than pay 18+% later.

I want a bailout.  The Obamanomics of Obamunism are not made for a guy like me, though.  Actually, if you can find something useful at my site for All Internet Needs dot Com and order it the commisions will help a bit, depending on what you buy.  (That was about the most pathetic sales pitch I have ever heard.  Swtrike it from the record.) https://www.allinternetneeds.com/Home.html

All of the stuff from the t-shirt, etc. business, Logan's Outlaws and Trail Riders, will be on an e-bay auction being handled by Consider It Sold in a few days.  I'm a bit bummed but I'm young, I'll get over it.

In the meantime, I did get something that was really cool, not for my birthday or any special occasion but just because my son saw something in a store that he thought I would like and he was right.  http://www.ionaudio.com/ionttusb10 Now I can digitize all of my albums, including my Smothers Brothers and Allan Sherman ones that are not (legally) available on CD and my autographed Dennis Day album.

Anyway, thank you all for sticking with me, you have not heard the last of me, bwahahahahahahahaha

************EDIT/ADD*****************

Just after I wrote this I got the e-mail with the links to 3 of the five auctions

I got the above video from my friend Sam, over at http://www.samchiang.blogspot.com/ and thought I would have a bit of fun.  The Swedish being translated into English just made me feel like, "Yeah, Herb, you are deserving of the Nobel Peace Prize because you have such good intentions and mean well."  Anyway, it was a lol moment for me.  I probably won't keep it around long because it takes a long time to load.

Actually I am here to officially tell you all about a new turn-key business I have.  It's as a reseller of Internet services.  I see it more as a sales position than a business-owner position but it doesn't matter what you call it.  If you buy something, I make money.  To be fair to myself and the company, however, they do have a 24/7 support line and as long as I have been their customer I have not had any problems with them.  The few times I have called them were for clarification on something I didn't understand.  You get the best of both worlds, really.  You are doing business with me while building your online presence and getting top-notch service personnel working with you if you need it.

The site is at:  https://www.allinternetneeds.com/Home.html

Please feel free to look around and ask me questions about it if you see something.  If I can't answer your question I will look for it until I find it.

Greetings Dearly Beloved Fans, Friends, Fiends and Foes,

‘Tis the season and just like all of you I have been keeping pretty busy.  There are some of you that would like an update on what's all going on with me so I will tell you all about it.

I also have a clip that I would like to share with you.  I received this clip from one of my former Sunday School students and thought it was just absolutely incredible.  She works on Capitol Hill and one of her main interests is in the way our Veterans and Wounded Warriors are treated when they come back.  She believes, and I agree, that spouses and family members should receive equal compensation with outside caregivers.  She also says that our vets and wounded are too-often neglected.  She is a fiscal conservative, as am I, but since the government plans to rob us blind anyway, they could at least spend it on something worthwhile, even if it means giving up important research into the sex life of the South American Swamp Rat or any of these: http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/editors-choice/2008/08/09/how-dangerous-is-sword-swallowing-and-other-stupid-research-86908-20690273/ (Yes.  Thank you.  I know these are not all American research projects, but you get the general idea this way.  You know what I mean.)

This video clip is not really about politics and is not preachy, just pretty awesome, whether you are a hopeless romantic looking for the definition of true love or an old warhorse-horse-soldier, looking to read about brave men and women.  After the clip, which comes after the "read more" button, for those of you in either Rio Linda or Clintonvile (Dropped an "l" on purpose)city government, I will have a bit more to tell you about what's up with me.

Miscellany

Dear Fans, Friends, Fiends and Foes,

I, the preacher of the doctrine, "Type it up in Word and save often so if your blog fails or something goes wrong you have it" had written about half of an entry and didn't take my own advice and lost the whole thing.  I was so mad.  It wasn't

On My Way Back

The conference is over but I got an additional computer.  My computer-friend guy rebuilt a few for a fundraiser and I got this one for $75.00.  P4, 2.26 Ghz processor, 704 Mb ram, 40g disk, plus I bought an external hard drive as well and backed up most of our important files to it.  I managed to save everyone's settings, too, except, well, you know how I like to putz and diddle-potz and experiment?  Well...I blew up my settings and so I am slowly getting back on track...

I have to catch up on my e-mail and reading and writing...I also had to do some of the hated 'rithmetic.  The sprinkler system uses water like it was, er, water...

Anyway, I have not gone to that great blue screen just yet.

New Skin 2

Wow.  July 1, 2009 already.  Incredible.  I think that generally speaking people seemed to like the new look but the font was too small.  I kind of cringed at the thought because the way a lot of these guys write their CSS it is to show off their prowess and great skill and I was dreading having to wade in and find all the places it needed to be changed but such was not the case.  The CSS was really very straightforward

Learning As I Go

I am almost ready to re-open the photo gallery.  I think that all future pics I add will be limited to 800x600 and if friends or family need a better quality for printing or whatever I can just send them what they want.  I am always glad to tick off bad guys, though.  That's okay.

I have to write in the morning.  By this time of the day

Dear and Beloved Fans, Friends, Fiends and even Foes,

As the big "four-nine" rears its ugly little head today I have been feeling reflective.  "Shiny as a clean mirror?" you ask.  No, not that kind of reflecting, the kind of reflecting where you think back over your life and go, "What happened?  How did I wind up here already?  Wait!  Go back!  I want a do-over!"  But there are no do-overs.  What's done is done.  So you might as well be thankful.  I always like to read Terri's "Life is Good" pieces she does on Fridays and Abby's "Silver Lining Saturdays" and just now I realize that I don't ever do that enough.  Read blogs?  No, I don't ever write about thankfulness and being thankful, often enough.  There is so much in my life I have to be thankful for I could never begin to tell it all.  So, today is going to be upbeat and positive and, especially, thankful.

One problem with making a list like this is where to even start.  How do you say it all?  How do you express gratitude?  Well, here is my list.
